There are moments in education that remind us that what we do goes far beyond academics. During P.E., an ESSES Scholar, Alana, noticed that a friend was hurting/in pain and immediately told Coach Farrulla, the P.E. teacher. Without hesitation, Coach sprang into action, got the student to the nurse, and our administrative team quickly took it from there. What happened next puts the importance of that response into perspective. Doctors later shared that the school’s quick action helped save this student’s life.
Think about it …
A student spoke up.
An educator listened.
A team responded.
And because they did, a life was impacted in the most incredible way.
For outstanding actions that exemplify what it truly means to go above and beyond for students, our district recognizes exceptional personnel with the Award.
On August 26, 2026, Alana, Coach Farrulla, Nurse Austin and Mrs. Davis did exactly that. ❤️This is more than an award. It is a reminder that being attentive, trusting your instincts, and acting quickly can make all the difference. 👏Congratulations and thank you for truly raising the bar when it mattered most.

Mrs. Blakeney’s math students are putting their multiplication skills into action! ✏️➗ They worked together to create posters demonstrating different strategies for solving multiplication problems, including equal groups, arrays, repeated addition, and the commutative property. We love seeing our students show what they know—and all the different ways they can think mathematically!
