The North Carolina Truck Driver Training School has the distinction of being the oldest and most successful truck driver training school in the nation. In 1949, North Carolina State University and members of the North Carolina Motor Carriers Association launched the program to help improve the industry by providing for safer, smarter, and more responsible truck driving professionals. In 1974, the School was transferred to Johnston Community College to administer and expand the training under a curriculum program. The program has only one training facility in North Carolina. The school has structured and unparalleled standards in teach excellence, superior quality of training and value for our industries and communities. The school is sponsored and endorsed by the NC Trucking Association and its members, and is also accredited by the American Trucking Associations.
