Thank you, Representative Gabe Amo for hosting a state wide symposium on Artificial Intelligence at the Smithfield Public Schools. Ava, a senior at SHS, was the student representative along with a panel of delegates including the Department of Education, Brown U professors, SHS teacher leaders & our district leadership. This symposium was hosted by Rep Amo & our Supt at SHS. Rep Amo is co-sponsoring legislation that will support partnerships between K-12 schools & higher education.

What a GREAT Field Day!

Thank you to all of these people for organizing, supporting, and volunteering to provide a fun, engaging, and exciting day of activities full of teamwork, cooperation, and discovery:

- our 5th grade students for leading and supporting other students in the activities
- students from the Smithfield Bridge Foundation for working with our students and leading activities in the gym
- Staff from The Roots for leading students on guided hikes in our Outdoor Classroom
- parent volunteers and members of the Old County Road School PTA for decorating, supporting the activities, and providing a cool, sweet treat for all students
- Todd Manni and the Smithfield Emergency Management Agency for providing the misting tent. Our students loved it!
- OCRS teachers and staff for your flexibility and support
- Our terrific P.E. teacher, Mr. Gruczka, for planning, organizing, and scheduling the entire Field Day event
