Johnston County Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Amy Policastro Schroeder as the new CTE Workforce Development Specialist in the Office of Career and Technical Education.

Schroeder brings extensive experience in career development and work-based learning, including previous service as a Career Development Coordinator and Career Development and Work-Based Learning Consultant at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Her leadership and service has earned statewide recognition, including the Roy N. Anderson Award for Outstanding Leadership & Service to the Career Development Profession. She played key roles in modernizing the career management curriculum, bringing NCcareers.org to North Carolinians, and integrating employability skills into CTE career pathways.

In her new role, she will support career development programs, work-based learning opportunities, industry partnerships, and career-connected experiences for students across the district.

“We are excited to welcome Amy to our team,” said Reno Palombit, Director of Career and Technical Education. “Her statewide leadership experience, knowledge of career development, and commitment to preparing students for their futures will be tremendous assets to our schools and community.”

We are very excited to report that preliminary data indicates our students earned over 8,400 credentials this school year! This is more than a 20% increase from prior year! We have taken a big step forward in closing credential opportunity gaps!
