July....don't go! I really should be better about writing here, but in my defense, time flies way to fast (lol), and I've been busy. I finished my Master's Degree, I had shoulder surgery, and my oldest graduated from high school. And with time not standing still for anyone, it is that time again where us teachers are getting ready to start a new year. There is always a bunch of emotions tied into that! Even my non-teacher friends that are parents, I see the emotional struggle you all go through. Excited that school will be starting, excited that there will be routine again. Nervous about new grades and teachers. I know a lot of my mom friends don't enjoy the yelling at the kiddos to get up in the mornings or to do their homework. And those emotions if your child is switching schools, or going to the junior high or even high school, thinking about all the brand new worries you might encounter...... Then the year starts and things will settle down. The children will find their place. The teachers will get into the routine. The world is good! Change is hard but change is an essential part of life! Some good news for all of us is that TpT will be having a sale August 1st and 2nd. You can get some items you will need for your classroom, or to help your child stay organized, or maybe even do a little bit of review on skills before the new year starts up! It's official! I am officially a graduate student! I have to say over the past few weeks I have been studing and it made me think about all the strategies I have discussed with my own students over the years! I took my first TIMED test the other day too.... YIKES! I do consider myself a good student, but know I was being timed added such a pressure to it! I have always felt bad for my students taking the PARCC test and now I have even more empathy for them! Well needless to say I passed! YIPEE
