The following is an important announcement for parents of JCPS students:

Recently, we asked your input on general topics surrounding school opening for the new school year. We appreciate your input on this as it has assisted us and guided our continued work.

We now need your help again as we begin making a more detailed plan for the 2020-2021 school year. It is important now to gather additional information that will assist us in being able to offer our JCPS families options as we deal with the continued COVID-19 pandemic. We eagerly await more definitive guidance from state officials, but need to plan for different ways to provide your students with educational options despite the current challenges.

An important form called the Family Decision Form can be found by visiting: www.johnston.k12.nc.us/familyform.

This form needs to be completed for each child in every household by July 8 in order for school principals to plan for these options. We need your responses to help us determine decisions for the fall semester. Also, please note that Governor Cooper’s directives and guidance from state and local officials could alter the options presented on this form.

Schools will also be following up with each of our JCPS families to ensure that a form for each student is received as plans are developed.

Thank you for your participation in the process as we work to start the new school year as safely as possible.
