CCW UPDATE FOR SACRAMENTO COUNTY RESIDENTS

Assembly Bill 1948 (AB 1948) was recently signed into law and, beginning January 1, 2027, standard California CCW licenses may be issued for up to three years, an increase from the current two-year license term.

If you already have a CCW license, it will remain valid until the expiration date printed on your permit. Existing licenses will not automatically be extended to three years. New and renewal CCW licenses issued on or after January 1, 2027, may be eligible for the new three-year term, provided all statutory requirements are met.

While the license term is changing, the eligibility requirements are not. Background checks, fi****ms training, and all other requirements under California law will remain in effect.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our inaugural Drill Workshop in December. Your attendance and valuable feedback are greatly appreciated.

For our upcoming session, we have implemented changes based on direct student input to enhance the experience:
• Class size will be limited to six students per session.
• Two sessions will be available on the same day.

Structure:
A morning and an afternoon session will be offered. This format accommodates both students who prefer a shorter four-hour workshop and those who wish to extend their time at the range. Participants may register for either the morning or afternoon session individually or choose to attend both sessions for a comprehensive experience. A short break will be scheduled between sessions to reset the range as needed.

Class prerequisite:
• Students should have basic safe gun handling skills.
• Previously taken Gunlady Basic Pistol class or other class equivalent is preferred but not required.
• CCW is NOT required to participate

Next Scheduled Date:
Drill Workshop – February 7th
Morning Session: 8:15 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Session: 12:15 PM – 4:00 PM

Cost: $100 per session plus applicable range fee

Note: If you elect to enroll in both sessions, the total cost will be $200 plus range fee.

Good Evening!

As promised we have begun to offer a series of workshops with our students in mind!

Registration has been opened for a Drill Workshop. This is a 4-hour workshop that will focus on running various drills and scenarios to allow you to test your skill level drawing from the holster with speed and accuracy.

The goal of this workshop is to sharpen or maintain your skill set while receiving real time feedback for those looking to build confidence in their abilities.

We will host a workshop once a quarter, so if you miss this one check back for the next one in 2026

Hi folks!

We have finalized our class plan for our Advanced CCW Course.

Registration has been opened for a class next Saturday, 8/23.

We are excited to fine tune the drills and class experience with some of our prior students or individuals looking to get some more experience with presenting from the holster and running some structured drills.
