Slippery Rock Area Education Association The organization represents the teachers of Slippery Rock Area School District. We support our students, the Rockets. WITHOUT US THE ROCKETS CAN'T LAUNCH!

We believe this community needs the best teachers and school services. We try to help the community by reducing turnover and attracting and keeping trained, experienced staff, support staff and the best teachers for the kids. Good schools are attractive to industries. That’s why we’re trying to improve the past contract so we give our students a world class education, have great schools and help our local economy.

The SRAEA scholarship fund has provided thousands of dollars in scholarships over the years. We hold different fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to be able to give away to graduating seniors. This year, we are excited to provide the following students with scholarships for their future endeavors:

Moraine Elementary school spent the months of March and April collecting cereal boxes for our weekend food program and for students and their families over the summer. Our students and staff were able to raise 227 boxes. On May 7th, the school gathered, for an assembly, to knock over the cereal boxes like dominos. The first try was a success in knocking down all of the boxes!

Sixth grade students at Slippery Rock Middle School collaborated to create a math book. Their work highlights over 30 sixth grade math lessons and topics. While some students wrote word problems, others illustrated them. Studentreasures professionally bound and published their work. The book is a beautiful keepsake for these creative kids!

On March 24th, several fourth and fifth graders from Area and Moraine competed at the Physics Day Egg Drop at Grove City College. The Moraine group, The Eggsperts, placed 2nd and the Area team, Polar Eggspress, received an Honorable Mention. 23 Teams competed. Congratulations to these students!
