🐾🏃‍♀️ Friday Cross Country Recap! 🏃‍♂️🐾

What an AMAZING day for our Slidell Greyhound Cross Country teams! We are so proud of these athletes and all the hard work they continue to put in! 🧡💙

🏆 High School Boys: Your Greyhounds brought home 1ST PLACE TEAM OVERALL! Congratulations to our top finishers:
🥇 Cash – 1st Place
🥉 Carter – 3rd Place
🏅 Josh – 4th Place

🏆 Junior High Boys: Our JH boys also took home 1ST PLACE AS A TEAM! What a fantastic accomplishment!

🌟 High School Girls: A special congratulations to Cameron for earning 5TH PLACE and qualifying for REGIONALS in her senior year! What an incredible way to continue making your mark, Cameron! We are so proud of you and can't wait to cheer you on at regionals! 🧡💙

🍳🎡 From the State Fair of Texas to the Wise County Youth Fair! 🐾🧡

Our Slidell FCS students enjoyed their third annual trip to the State Fair of Texas, where they were invited guests for Chef Pete’s Cooking Demonstration in the Creative Arts Building! What an incredible opportunity to learn, participate, and experience the culinary world firsthand!

👩‍🍳 Straight to the Kitchen!
Zuhey De La Cruz, Leslie Ortiz, Kirstyn Hammond, and Kaycee Huber joined Chef Pete to prepare Chicken Fried Gumbo, giving guests the opportunity to sample their creation!

Next up, Conner Gerst, Madilyn Coonrod, Sarah Cox, and Valery Sanchez stepped into the kitchen to help prepare Yahoo Wagyu Puffs, sharing their delicious creation with the audience!

🍬 A Little Taste of the Fair!
No trip to the State Fair would be complete without exploring the vendors in the Food and Fiber Building! Students enjoyed visiting vendors and sampling a variety of sweet treats and other products along the way.

🏆 And the Learning Doesn't Stop Here!
All 36 students who participated in this year's State Fair festivities will take home more than just memories! As part of this two-part experience, students will enter their own baked goods in the upcoming Wise County Youth Fair, putting their skills and creativity to the test!

We are proud of our Greyhounds for embracing these opportunities, building their culinary skills, and representing Slidell ISD! We can't wait to see what they whip up next! 🧡🐾

🤠 Slidell FFA in the Spotlight! 🐂

The Slidell FFA Ag Issues team was honored to present their presentation to ranchers and industry professionals at the historic 52nd Annual R.A. Brown Ranch Bull, Quarter Horse, and Female Sale and Ranchers Forum in Throckmorton!

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing Slidell FFA and sharing their hard work with industry leaders. A huge thank you to everyone at R.A. Brown Ranch for welcoming our students and providing them with this wonderful opportunity!

Color Run Rescheduled to Thursday, November 5th! 🌈

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our Color Run, originally planned for this Friday. With approximately an inch of rain expected Thursday night, temperatures in the 50s, and windy conditions in the forecast, we feel it is best to move the event to a day when our students and families can enjoy it to the fullest!

We know many of our parents have taken time off work to join us, and we truly appreciate the effort you make to be part of this special day. That is why we wanted to make this decision as early as possible, taking all of the forecasted conditions into consideration while also giving families as much time as possible to adjust their schedules.
We are just as disappointed as you are! We know how much fun this event is for our students, and we are confident that Thursday, November 5th, will still be an amazing day full of color, smiles, and memories! 💙🧡🌈

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support. We can't wait to celebrate with you in November!

¡La Carrera de Colores se reprograma para el jueves 5 de noviembre! 🌈

Lamentablemente, hemos tomado la difícil decisión de reprogramar nuestra Carrera de Colores, que estaba programada para este viernes. Debido a que se espera aproximadamente una pulgada de lluvia durante la noche del jueves, temperaturas en los 50 grados y mucho viento, creemos que lo mejor es cambiar el evento para un día en el que nuestros estudiantes y familias puedan disfrutarlo al máximo.

Sabemos que muchos de nuestros padres han pedido permiso en el trabajo para acompañarnos, y agradecemos sinceramente el esfuerzo que hacen para ser parte de este día tan especial. Por eso, quisimos tomar esta decisión lo antes posible, considerando todas las condiciones del pronóstico del tiempo y dándoles a las familias el mayor tiempo posible para ajustar sus horarios. Estamos igual de decepcionados que ustedes.

¡Sabemos cuánto disfrutan nuestros estudiantes de este evento y estamos seguros de que el jueves 5 de noviembre seguirá siendo un día increíble, lleno de colores, sonrisas y recuerdos inolvidables! 💙🧡🌈

Colton Wood showed at the International Texas Longhorn Association Championship Show in Glen Rose on October 9th and 10th! We are so proud of Colton and the hard work, dedication, and work ethic he continues to demonstrate. His commitment to his passion is something worth celebrating! 🧡💙

🦃 Thanksgiving Meal Assistance for Greyhound Families 🧡

Through a partnership with Grace Fellowship, we are happy to offer Thanksgiving meal items to families in need, while supplies last! ❤️

In previous years, meals have included a meat item, several sides, rolls, and a dessert to help make your Thanksgiving a little easier.

📅 Meal Pickup Times:

Thursday, November 19: 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

Friday, November 20: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

📍 Pickup Location: Slidell Elementary Campus

Please note that meals must be picked up by an adult, as the items are too heavy for students to carry.
