🐾🐾WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!!🐾🐾

Let's jump right in!

Panther Battalion Boot Camp:
Saturday, August 22, 2026
7:00am- 2:00pm
Northshore High School

Please make sure your cadet is on campus and in place at 7am sharp!

Paperwork has been handed out to all cadets. If you have not seen it yet, ask your cadet for it 😁

Lunch will be provided for cadets and parents. We are serving Jambalaya and snacks. The cadets will have access to drinks and water throughout the course of the day. But for every occasion, please have them bring their water bottle.

Parents, this is a great opportunity for you to learn more about our JROTC program and all that it has to offer. In addition, you will be able to connect with the instructors and other JROTC parents.

You will get to see your cadet in action! Whether it be rope bridge or archery, they will each get the opportunity to try their hand at different extra curricular activities that JROTC offers.

Make sure your cadets are dressed for the occasion: Gym shorts, T-shirt(no tank tops), socks, and tennis shoes.

**For those with returning cadets, if you would like to help with lunch set up, serving, and breakdown/clean up, PLEASE TEXT MELISSA VANNEY 985-290-2591**

Parents...here are TWO important dates for this week that your cadet should have already given you. But just in case, here ya go 😁

This Thursday, April 23rd, is our JROTC Awards Night! It will be held in the school Gym and starts at 6pm.

THIS IS A MANDATORY EVENT FOR CADETS! All Cadets are required to attend. This will count as a test grade and a uniform grade! If for some reason your cadet can not attend(work or something along that line) they MUST return the form(that was handed out) to Colonel for approval. The form must have a parent signture and phone number on it

Staff and Company Cadets need to arrive by 4:45. All other Cadets should be there by 5:15.

They should be wearing their uniform for the Awards Ceremony. It is also Dress Uniform day for school...so they will be in uniform for school and the ceremony.

All friends and family are welcome! Come on out and support this fantastic group of kids!

Our second date is this Saturday, April 25th!

It is a Keep Slidell Beautiful work day! This time we will NOT be working at Heritage Park. Instead we will
be helping clean up Greenwood Cemetery. We will be cleaning up grave markers and the grounds.

Meet up time is 8am(although most will be there at 7:30) and will end around noon. Lunch will be provided. Because of the scoop of work, we are inviting any and all family members that would like to come out!! Please bring a water bottle and gloves if you have them.

The address for Greenwood Cemetery is 250 Bryan St. It is across the side street from the Tennis Courts that are on 3rd St.

The Cadets must turn the permission slip in by this Friday 24th, so we can get a head count for volunteers and lunch.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

I don’t know whose profile this is but it’s not mine. My daughter graduated in 2019 and somehow I still have this fb profile. I keep getting messages on it and don’t know how to delete it. Just please know I don’t know who is using my profile but it should have been inactive since 2019. I still think Sarge and Colonel Rock!!!!

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™Let's talk all things Military Ball!πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

❀️ This is a LONG post, please read all the way to the end❀️

Time...6:30pm to 9:30pm
Place...Pinewood Country Club
Price....$20 per ticket

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

***THIS WILL BE A LOCK IN!! ONCE THE CADES ARE SIGNED IN, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE UNTIL DISMISSAL TIME***

No Limousines or Party Buses are allowed! If Cadets arrive in either of these, they will not be allowed entrance!

🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

This is a FORMAL Dance! The dress code is STRICT. So, what do they wear??

Female Cadets:
They are to wear LONG formal dress. This is not like a Homecoming Dance...NO short dresses are allowed. The dress must properly cover the chest (no plunging neck lines). Open backs are allowed but can not go past the lower back. Dress shoes (flats or heels), no tennis shoes, flip flops, etc.

Male Cadets:
They wear their ROTC Uniforms with a few adjustments. If they have been issued a Class A uniform (with the jacket) they wear that. If not, they wear their Class B uniform (without the jacket). All males wear a white, collard, button down dress shirt (not their ROTC uniform shirt) with a BLACK bowtie (not their ROTC tie), and their black uniform socks and dress shoes. I would recommend either hoping on Amazon or going to the store now to get the bowtie. A lot of proms are happening at the same time and black bowties become really hard to find.

If your Cadet is bringing a female date/friend to the Ball, they follow the SAME dress code as our female Cadets. No exceptions.

If your Cadet is bringing a male date/friend to the Ball, he wears dress slacks, dress shirt, tie (any kind), and dress shoes. A Suit jacket is not required.

If a Cadet or Guest is not in compliance with the dress code, they will NOT be able to attend the Dance.

Please! Please! Please! Follow the Dress Code! We don't want to turn Cadets away at the door😒
I have had girls (or their moms) text me pictures of their dresses if they weren't sure it was okay to wear...you are more than welcome to do that!

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Let's talk Chaperones!!

There is a place on the permission slip that asks if you would like to chaperone for the dance. If it's something you want to do, go ahead and mark that box. But please understand by marking that box, it does not mean that you WILL chaperone, only that you are WILLING to be one.

We have a very limited amount of chaperone spots, and we give first choice to parents of cadets that are on the Military Ball Court and to Senior Parents. Please understand that the more chaperones we allow, the fewer Cadets we can let come...and it's all about the Cadets 😊 Chaperones will be assigned their area to watch upon sign in.

I will call/text everyone that submits a Chaperone form and let you know. Remember, the papers will go out around the second week of March.

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

For our newer parents, you're probably asking what The Military Ball Court is?

The Cadets vote for one female and one male Cadet from each grade level to be on the Court (similar to Homecoming Court). The Senior Cadets are the Queen and King of the Ball and the other grades are on their court.

The Court is presented at the beginning of the Dance and they will then perform The Waltz (don't worry the practice beforehand😊) to kick off the Ball.

If your Cadet is on the Court and you are not chaperoning, you and your family will be given the choice to come watch the Presentation of the Court and take picturesπŸ˜ƒ and then you would leave after The Waltz is done.

πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„

I will make another post when the papers are put out so you can ask your Cadet for themπŸ˜‚ Please remember the Dress Code! And please remember that you can reach out to me with any and all questions you may have!

Thanks so much!
