Outstanding!
Congratulations Graduates!! 💜🫶🏼
Hannah’s mom saw it happening from across the room. The senior walk was loud and chaotic and overwhelming, and she could tell her daughter was starting to struggle. She started moving toward her.
She didn’t get there first.
Miles reached over and grabbed Hannah’s hand. Their friend Xavier stayed close. And just like that, everything settled.
The three of them have been friends since fifth grade, when they were all in an inclusive classroom together. That friendship didn’t stay contained to one school year. It grew — through middle school, through high school, all the way to a senior walk that could have been one of the hardest moments of Hannah’s year and instead became one of the most beautiful.
Hannah’s mom stood at a distance and watched it happen through tears. She said it felt completely natural for Miles. Not a grand gesture. Not something he had to think about. Just what he does — because Hannah is his friend and that is what you do for the people you care about.
Hannah felt safe. She felt included. She felt seen.
On a day full of noise and motion and emotion, she wasn’t alone in any of it. Because two boys who have known her since fifth grade made sure of it.
Congratulations, Hannah, Miles, and Xavier. The world needs more friendships that look like yours.
