Mrs. Whitecotton’s homeroom conducted a Socratic seminar as part of their learning today.

A Socratic seminar is a formal, student-led discussion based on a shared text. Instead of debating to win an argument, participants use open-ended questions and evidence to explore ideas, listen closely to peers, and build a collective understanding.

Today in Ms. Ragsdale’s class, students used details from the text to explain events and concepts. They then used talking chips to engage in a respectful class discussion on how Hurricanes can alter lives and communities.
