Students concluded that Jack enjoyed poetry during a discussion of "Love that Dog," by Sharon Creech. Fourth grade students in Ms. Doane's class were talking about the book during a Language Arts lesson.

Our UPK students had a blast painting their tiny t-shirts that they were making for their special Teddy Bear friends! Each student selected their own personal bear, and hand painted a t-shirt for them to wear. The bears will be used to help students understand lessons pertaining to social-emotional development.

Members of the eighth grade class had an opportunity to visit the historic Union Church just down the street! The students enjoyed learning the history of the church, specifically the amazing Rose Window created by famed artist Henri Matisse and getting a close-up look at the windows designed by artist Marc Chagall. The two artists were commissioned to do the work by the Rockefeller family.

Pocantico students visited the church to see the incredible windows, and reflect on the work in preparation for a special year long art project they will be doing.

It's a girl announced one student a she hoisted up a gigantic butternut squash! It was a beautiful fall morning to be out in the garden today. Several Pocantico classes visited the garden today where they were greeted by Kaleidoscope Garden representative Beth. During their visit students helped to plant radishes, have a taste of some of the goodies they found and wrote down some of their observations.

What a great day for our 7th and 8th grade students! Their annual retreat at the Sharpe Reservation is always an amazing way for our students to bond, have some fun, enjoy some problem solving activities and otherwise enjoy some time outdoors!

Students and staff brought the engergy today during the annual HAWKS Celebration! Everyone gathered in the gym. Each class sent representatives to share class goals and their class song! We are all HAWKS!!!
