We're excited to share that we had our latest scholarly article published in the Journal of Youth Ministry from the Association of Youth Ministry Educators spring 2025 edition! In this article, we unpack the why, how, and what of camp-to-home strategies uncovered from current and historical practices. Project leaders Rob Ribbe and Rachael Botting, alongside Advisory Team member Kevin Lawson, penned this impactful read.

Now, we're in the midst of testing and applying these strategies through deep camp and church partnerships. There's so much more to learn and share ahead!

Bonus shoutout - Project Associate Director Rachael Botting also had her article "The Discipline of Summer Camp" from her doctoral research published in this edition! Read both and you'll find interesting intersections in these findings.

A couple of us had the honor of attending Bay Shore Camp for a Rhythm of Faith Training. I came away so encouraged and excited about the partnership we have with Bay Shore Camp. This training is part of a national grant, which will help churches and camps connect with one another, as we seek to connect young people and their families with Jesus.

If you have a child and/or youth who would like to attend Bay Shore Camp this summer, let us know. We want to get you signed up. Bay Shore Camp, we look forward to this partnership and all that God has in store for our community in the years ahead.

We capped off a marathon week of leader gatherings with a visit to Shetek Lutheran Ministries! Thanks to Marv Nysetvold and his team for the warm welcome to Shetek’s beautiful spaces inside and out, and especially for the creativity and dedication to church and family partnership in ministry. We’re looking forward to seeing all you do together!

We got to spend the day at Frontier Cove, their frontier-town site where they hold junior camp, and in the past has even been used in movie shoots 🎥!

Thanks for a great experience Lutherhaven Ministries! Project Co-Director Rob Ribbe got to spend a day this week working with camp leaders and church partners as they begin to explore ways to creatively and sustainably catalyze rhythms of faith at home in families. Lutherhaven is one of our Lutheran Outdoor Ministries network project partner camps. We look forward to what's next in ID!

We had an incredible first partner retreat with our friends from Cross Trails Ministry this past weekend! The team at Cross Trails gathered leaders from partner churches to spend time diving into strategies and actions that can best align and integrate faith-forming experiences at camp, church, and home. Project Co-Director Jacob Sorenson was the guide and facilitator for this retreat.

This team spent time worshipping, praying, team building, breaking down parent resource and support needs, workshopping ideas and programs, and much more. They left energized for what's ahead as they begin to develop and implement some of the ideas they seeded this weekend.
