MSAD 54 has shared a letter with our school community outlining resources and support available for both current students and graduates in response to the recent tragedies that have impacted our community.

If you, your child, or another young person you know could benefit from additional support as they navigate these recent losses, please review and share the information and resources attached below.

We encourage families to reach out and utilize these supports as needed. Our community is strongest when we care for and support one another. You can also contact your child's school to ask for more details.

🦈 School Shark and the gang are checking in to see how our MCSCS students are doing this summer! The gang also read to the 1st graders at the end of the school year and put smiles on all the students faces for V Day!

Are you reading a great book? Practicing your math facts? School Shark hopes so! But most importantly, we hope you're making the most of summer by swimming, riding your bike, camping, exploring, playing outside, and making wonderful memories with family and friends.

Everyone at MCSCS misses seeing your smiling faces! We can't wait to hear about all of your summer adventures when school starts again.

Don't forget to check out the free summer meal opportunities! Join us for lunch at MCSCS or one of the other meal sites throughout the summer. We hope to see you there!

Summer Community Champion
A community champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.

Margaret Chase Smith School’s Summer Community Champion is Javae Wood!

Javae goes above and beyond when working with students and families. She truly takes time to listen to concerns before providing suggestions and support. She is always kind and makes everyone feel heard. When she meets with families often times emotions are high. She creates plans while keeping in mind how everyone is feeling. She is an amazing team player.

Spring Community Champion

Margaret Chase Smith School’s Spring Community Champion is Jim Cosgrove!

Jim is quick to respond to the staff and student technology needs and has gone above and beyond when assisting staff with technology issues with Promethean boards. He collaborated with the Promethean company and even prepared a Promethean board guide with tips and step by step instructions to help staff better utilize the benefits of our new boards. He’s our technology rock star!

Congratulations, Jim, we are so thankful to have you as a part of our community!

School Shark is checking on our students to make sure you are reading and practicing math facts this summer! Most importantly the MCSCS misses you all and hope that you are swimming, bike riding, camping and having lots of summer fun! Happy 4th of July to our MCSCS students and families!

We loved the annual walk-through of our graduates in June. We celebrated with cheers around our school from our infants and toddlers all the way up to our 5th graders. Student Aspirations are an important part of our MSAD54 vision and having our graduates march our halls helps to inspire our students to set goals for middle school, high school and think about their interests as learn and grow and eventually walk our halls as a graduate too.

We are proud of our graduates and hope that you all find your path as you venture from MSAD54!!!
