Good morning everyone ❤️
There really is no easy way to say this, so I’m just going to say it😭
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the very difficult decision to cut WAY back on drivers education.
I will still offer a few classes per year, but after my summer sessions wrap up, I will no longer be running monthly classes.
This decision was not easy. I have absolutely loved being our community’s #1 choice and have had the honor of teaching over 1,400 students how to drive. That’s over 1,400 nervous first turns,
1,400 parallel parking victories, and 1,400 young drivers heading out into the world a little more confident. Watching students come in terrified on hour one and leave with confidence by hour ten has truly been one of the greatest joys of my life.
But this year is special for our family.
This is our last year with our oldest daughter before she heads off to college, and that is time I simply can't get back. On top of that, we have decided to try to expand our family.
As much as I love sitting in a car for 12 hours a day saying things like “check over your shoulder” and “slide left a little”… it’s slightly less ideal when you’re pregnant or raising a brand new baby.
So this isn’t goodbye, it’s simply a shift in seasons.
I also want to take a moment to recognize some wonderful people in the driving instructor community. If I had to choose a school for my own children, I would absolutely look into:
• Andrea at Andy's Driving Academy - Waterville, ME
• Durche at Beal Driving Academy
• Mike at Goldens Driving Academy
They are great instructors who truly care about their students and teach the proper techniques.
To every family who trusted me with their teen’s driver education, thank you!
To every student who white knuckled the steering wheel during the first lesson and then drove confidently by the last one… you will always have a special place in my heart❤️
And to the students who have stayed in touch over the years by inviting me to graduations (high school and college), weddings, and even baby showers… yes, I’ve officially been doing this long enough for that now, you mean more to me than you know!
As we begin the journey of IVF, please send all the prayers and positive vibes our way as I hopefully swap brake pedals for baby bottles.
You can always still find me at Good & Plenty 2 baking like crazy, and as always, I’m just a text or call away.
Keep an eye out for future class dates after the July session, but space will be limited as I plan to keep classes very small and only a few times per year.
Thank you all for always supporting Pine Tree State Driving Academy.
Rooted in safety.
Driven by excellence. ❤️
