As Odeion School of Music is about to enter its 15th year of operation, I have been reflecting on the past few months. It has undoubtedly been an extremely hard period for the arts and especially for the performing industry. Things like music, theater, dance, and other forms of art which soothe our souls and inspire our creativity have been buried behind a screen, and live performances seem like a lost dream from the past. It is truly unfortunate that the pandemic has hit so hard something so precious and necessary, and it is even more unfortunate that the longer this lasts, the more unnecessary it starts to feel for a lot of people. Odeion is here to remind everyone that music is an essential part of our lives and staying connected through music needs to continue. Live performers and enthusiastic audiences need to fill the theaters again soon because the applause of a live audience is therapeutic both for those who are offering it and those who are receiving it. Despite the difficult circumstances Odeion is still going strong. We have managed to keep music learning alive and we have not lost the personal touch that goes along with it. Odeion's new season will begin on January 4, 2021, and registration is open for private lessons. Let's all keep the music spirit going!!!
