We would like to bring an important aspect of your student's academic picture into your focus that will help the student improve the academic credentials, as well as help you financially in the near future when your student goes to college.
With the elimination of the SAT Subject Tests from last year and the embracing of the Test-optional status by more and more higher education institutions, the academic record of students gains more and more weightage. Students must contend with fewer and fewer opportunities to show their record in a shining light even as the competition is at an all-time high and the acceptance rates of good colleges and universities are becoming abysmally low.
In such a situation, the Advanced Placement (AP) courses provide an excellent opportunity to the students to prove their academic mettle by scoring high in the AP Tests and show the colleges that they are ready for the challenges at a higher education institution. The parents also gain enormously when students score high as many colleges and universities accept a high AP test score to provide partial credits or waive courses entirely. Thus, the AP performance has suddenly moved to the center of the academic picture, and good to great performances at the AP tests have become even more important.
We at Sigma Academy have been at the forefront of AP Training for the past 15 years having trained hundreds of students in various subjects very successfully. Year over year, we beat the national averages hands down with most of our students scoring 4s or 5s.
We provide intensive 8-week long preparation classes in various subjects, focusing exclusively on the AP Test with a 3-hour class each week where the entire syllabus is reviewed in the first few classes, several AP tests are administered, evaluated, weaknesses identified, and the identified weaknesses are remedied immediately.
These are held in a small group setting with only a handful of students in each class so that the teacher can keep close tabs on the performances of individual students. The small group also enables the teacher to provide individualized help to each student by providing help in topics which a student needs to shore up.
As the students need to focus on the test for almost three hours, these classes are intentionally 3-hour long where the student automatically gets used to sitting for three hours focusing on the subject.
