Lady Braves Volleyball had a busy weekend!

Update on a weekend full of games!

It was another weekend full of growth. There were some losses, but also some big wins. On Friday we took advantage of playing every single set available! The night of games finished around 10:45pm with a 5-set loss to the crimson bears, but the Lady Braves fought until the very end despite waking up before 4am. On Saturday, after a great nights sleep, the Lady Braves represented MEHS with enthusiasm and confidence. The girls worked together, supported each other, and won the last match of the weekend in 5 games. The Lady Braves learned throughout the weekend and increased their skills both mentally and physically. If you see someone from the trip, congratulate them on a great weekend - and ask them for a high point from the weekend.

DDF NEWS!!

At our first tournament of the year, students participate in workshops, compete in 3 extemporaneous rounds of debate, and in their drama and speech rounds only once. In extemporaneous debate, students learn the topic and their side of the debate, and then are given 30 minutes to prepare.

Our senior and captain, Jolie Samah, helped her teammates form debate plans and guided them through the barely controlled chaos of a DDF tournament. Abby Jones was front and center, ready to help her younger teammates (and her coaches) with the rigors of Southeast travel.

Our team finaled and came in third for Reader's Theater. This event included all 6 of them!

Jolie Samah and Malena Ollaol both finaled in Extemporaneous Speaking. Jolie earned 4th place, and Malena (at her very first tournament!) earned second place!
