Message from Elementary Principal:
Dear Westside Elementary School families,
Our Westside WAVE team has gone to incredible lengths to provide access to online learning and academic support for our students during this uncertain and challenging time. As each week progresses, we all work together to find ways to provide instruction for our learners.

As we continue towards the end of the school year for 2019-20, we intend to finish stronger for our learners. This week we continue to expect regular submissions of evidence for learning and communication with you and/or our learners. These submissions may take the form of a photograph of your child’s learning from their learning plan, completion of an assignment from IXL, Readworks, or Zearn , a comment through Dojo/Remind/Google Classroom or phone call/text with your child’s teacher. Communication is KEY!

Next week (May 11-15) expect to have a final phone/zoom conference with your child’s teacher. The conference will be an exit conference sharing your child’s learning progress and areas to grow. Our teachers look forward to speaking with you learning as to how we can best support your child and you through this final end-of-year phone or video conference.

Thank you for all your support and understanding during this unprecedented time. Please feel free to reach out to our staff with questions anytime. In addition, please view our District website, join your child’s Dojo class, and follow our page.

At Westside, we are Well Prepared, Always Safe, we Value Respect and are Eager to Learn. We will grow stronger together through each day.

Are they still considering doing WASP this summer if able? Or should we look for other child care? 🤯
Huge shoutout to the teachers and staff. Thank you all so much! For working so hard to make sure our kids educational needs are still being met through this. You guys are truly amazing making it easier for us parents/guardians at home. The kids miss you all. Wishing you all well!
The banana sweater is back on to hand out lunches today 😂
Sisseton elementary school is in the spirit of Christmas today 🌲 I loved walking into the office and to see the spirit of Christmas really shine today. Loved the glasses JILL!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU WHO WORK SO HARD TO EDUCATE OUR BABIES AND TO BRING OUT THE BEST OF THEM 💗🎄🎁

My kids love class dojo. Makes them more responsible and exciting to learn and earn. They make sure to get chores done and read everyday. I can create reading goals for them also.
Does school start on time tomorrow? 12.02.19
I had the privilege this morning to have Karla Karst and her 1st graders sing to me!💗
"They sang the turkey song"
I want to say to her class " You all were wonderful! And you all are my Sunshine!" What her and her class did was the most coolest gift I have received and for sure one of my best moments EVER!
I'LL REMEMBER TO BRING IT UP AT YOUR HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATION DAY🤗🤗🤗🤗
Are the lunch times for each grade posted anywhere?

Masks on the Move....."All students, staff, and visitors are required to wear a mask whenever unable to maintain a 6ft. spacing from students/staff, when in common areas including building hallways, and when using district transportation services." A way to think about this is to think of "Masks on the Move". When students and staff are not seated 6ft away from each other or moving from one location to another, masks must be worn.
