For the 9th consecutive year, the cast from Storybook Land Theater took the stage at Anderson Park to deliver a delightful, colorful children’s theater performance in Sisseton. This year’s play was “Pete the Cat.” Children from the WASP daycare program at Westside were able to enjoy the afternoon show on August 12. The event was sponsored by the Sisseton Arts Council.

Thanks to the South Dakota Arts Council's Creative Aging program, the Sisseton Arts Council was able to bring the cast from Storybook Land Theater to Edgewood in Sisseton on August 12. Their upbeat music is always a treat for residents.

The cast from Storybook Land Theater in Aberdeen will be bringing their talent and energy to Sisseton tomorrow AFTERNOON (Wednesday, Aug. 12) for a FREE 2:00 pm outdoor performance of "Pete the Cat" at Anderson Park. (Based on the popular series of children's books.) Bring a lawn chair and head to the park by 1:30 pm so you can catch their fun music concert prior to the show! Sponsored by the Sisseton Arts Council!

Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Anderson Park as Aberdeen’s “Storybook Land Theatre (SBLT) On Tour” makes a stop in Sisseton with its production of "Pete the Cat." The FREE afternoon performance begins with a live concert at 1:30 p.m. At 2:00 p.m. the SBLT performers will present a family-friendly show based on the series of well-loved children’s books by Kimberly and James Dean. It will be fun for all ages! Sponsored locally by the Sisseton Arts Council, we encourage you to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. (In case of bad weather, the performance will be moved to the Sisseton City Hall, 406 2nd Ave. W.)

Stop by the Nicollet Tower Interpretive Center and the Stavig House Museum to see this special exhibit featuring the work of local artists. The Tower is open from 9 am - 5 pm daily and the Stavig House from 1 pm - 4 pm daily. Admission is free!

Karen Sebek brought some of her unique antique collectibles to Edgewood Assistant Living on May 6. Residents loved sharing memories they had of similar items and of “days gone by.” Karen even had an old Sears and Roebuck catalog and old magazines that everyone enjoyed looking through. Karen also did a similar presentation for residents at Tekakwitha Living Center on May 20.
