What a special way to end an incredible school year! 💛💙

Today was filled with so much laughter, excitement, and joy as our students celebrated the last day of school with a glow party, fun classroom celebrations, and an inflatable race! Seeing the smiles on their faces and the memories they made together was the perfect reminder of what a wonderful year it has been. ✨🎉

We are so proud of all of our students and grateful for the amazing families, staff, and community that made this year so meaningful. Thank you for an unforgettable school year!

Last Friday was one for the books at Field Day! ☀️🎉

Our students spent the day making memories, showing teamwork, and having so much fun through all of the games, activities, and friendly competition. From running races to laughing with friends, it was such a great way to celebrate the end of an amazing school year. 💛💙

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who helped run stations and supervise the inflatables throughout the day. Your time, energy, and support helped make Field Day such a fun and memorable experience for our students! We are so grateful for everyone who helped make the day so special.

☀️ Sidewalks + Math = The Perfect Lesson! 🧮

3rd grade took math outside yesterday and turned the sidewalk into their classroom! Students practiced solving math equations with chalk while enjoying the beautiful weather. Learning is always more fun with a little fresh air, creativity, and colorful sidewalks! ✏️🌈

🌲🍄 K05 had a wild day of learning during our forest-themed classroom day in Mrs. W’s room! From woodland fun to hands-on activities, students explored, created, and used their imaginations all day long. It was so much fun watching our little explorers learn and grow together in their forest adventure! 🦌🌿📚

After a stretch of long testing days, Miss Beach’s class and Mrs. Schildhauer’s class enjoyed a well-deserved spa day! 💆‍♀️✨

Students took time to relax, recharge, and celebrate all their hard work. From calming activities to a little pampering, it was the perfect way to unwind after giving their best effort.

We’re so proud of their focus and perseverance! 💙

Our 5th graders had a great time on Thursday during their field trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium! 🦒🐘

Students explored a wide range of exhibits, discovered animals from around the world, and enjoyed a day of learning beyond the classroom. From fascinating habitats to unique animal encounters, there was plenty to keep everyone engaged and curious throughout the day. 🌍🦁

It was a fun and memorable experience for all. Thank you to our staff and chaperones for helping make it such a successful trip! 😊

🌴 Garfield Elementary Field Day 2026 🏃‍♂️

Get ready for a day full of fun, teamwork, and activity! Field Day is coming up on Friday, May 15th at Sherman Park (Soccer Field).

🕘 Schedule:
• Grades 3–5: 8:20–10:50 AM
• Grades K–2: 12:10–2:30 PM

Students will rotate through 15 exciting stations—get ready to move, play, and have a great time with your class!

🎒 What to bring & wear:
• Refillable water bottle (labeled)
• Tennis shoes & lightweight clothing
• Sunscreen (apply before school)
• Hat or sunglasses (optional)
• Extra socks (grass may be wet!)

🍴 Lunch will be provided at school (or students may bring their own).

🐒 Bonus Fun: It’s Jungle Dress-Up Day! Feel free to wear jungle-themed outfits (weather-appropriate).

🙋 Volunteers needed! Please contact the school office ahead of time to complete required paperwork.

Yesterday, Mrs. Holz’s class brought learning to life with a sweet twist! 🍭🍬

Room 104 had a blast playing Candy Land—with real candy—as they practiced turn-taking, counting, and good sportsmanship. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and a little bit of friendly competition along the way!

It was such a fun and memorable way to learn. Way to go, 104! 🎉
