SIOUX FALLS ADULT SOCCER LEAGUES AND THE DAKOTA ALLIANCE ADULT SOCCER COMMUNITY ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

August 11, 2023

(Sioux Falls, SD – August 11, 2023) – The Dakota Alliance Adult Soccer Community is pleased to announce the establishment of a partnership between the Sioux Falls Adult Soccer League (SFASL) and the Dakota Alliance Adult Soccer Community starting in the 2023 - 2024 season. The two leagues will play together as the Dakota Alliance Adult Soccer Community. The new league will be under the direction of Tyler Soyer, Jennifer Slater - Unruh, and Frank Gurnick.

Both leagues will work together to form the largest adult soccer club in South Dakota for both men and women. By utilizing each other’s resources, the new league will be able to stay on the cutting edge of program development and focus on offering the best and most diverse opportunities. The initial plan is to remain true to the roots of each league by offering both 6-aside and 8-aside during the indoor season. We will offer the same opportunities for outdoor play but will now be able to consider other offerings to meet the demands of the membership.

Sioux Falls Adult Soccer Leagues (SFASL), led by Jennifer Slater-Unruh, Angelique Verver, and Gina Ginithan. The SFASL was founded in 1998 with 4 teams comprised of 48 players. The league has grown to 25 teams and 325 players!!! Jennifer comes with many years of administrative, playing, and leadership experience. Jennifer is currently a 7th Grade Social Studies teacher and Middle School Soccer Coach @ Ben Reifel Middle School. “I am very excited about this new venture between SFASL and DASC. The time has come for a new era for adult amateur soccer in Sioux Falls! I look forward to the growth this will bring to our two leagues as we become one! I look forward to working with Tyler and developing new and exciting ways to keep our adult soccer players playing the game they love! For the Love of the Game!” – Jennifer Slater-Unruh

The Dakota Alliance Adult Soccer Community was formed in 2022. The Dakota Alliance Soccer Community started with 179 players and has grown to 369 in the brief history of the league. "I'm excited about this partnership to continue to grow the Adult Soccer in Sioux Falls and offer more opportunities for our membership in the future. I look forward to working with Jen and continuing to keep adult soccer alive in SD. Thanks to all our membership and let's continue to make adult soccer in Sioux Falls amazing!" - Tyler Soyer

FYI...There will be an OPEN house session on Wednesday, August 30th at 6pm at Yankton Trails near field 20a and 20b.

Keep your eyes peeled for important information revolving around registration for the leagues. It is our intention to provide two indoor sessions a 6v6 league on Friday nights and an 8v8 league on Sundays beginning in November. Registration should be available the week of September 4th.,

This man was a tireless pioneer within USSoccer and USSoccer Paralympics. He was also my friend. 😢 We lost a true inspiration and a champion that embodied For the Good of The Game. He told me once.. “ I try to represent all of disability soccer not just Paralympics but it’s a long road”. I am sure his bright spirit, leadership, and love of the game will continue to inspire others to represent his mission of representation in the future. RIP Eli 🙏🏻⚽️
