🏕️ Another EXTRAordinary day in the Black Hills! 🦅

Our 8th graders had a packed day of exploring and adventure! They visited the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, then headed to Wind Cave—only to find out that a broken elevator meant their plans needed to change. So, they did what good leaders do… made a new plan! 💪

After hiking around the area, they headed to Blue Bell Lodge at Custer State Park for a hayride and Chuck Wagon cookout experience! 🌲🐴🔥

It looks like these Eagles had an unforgettable day filled with learning, laughter, adventure, and plenty of memories!

What an EXTRAordinary week it has been! 💙 From exploring God’s creation to trying new things, working together, and making memories, our 8th graders have had quite the adventure.

Safe travels home tomorrow, Eagles! We can’t wait to welcome you back! 🦅🏕️

🔷 Shapes & God Created Me! 🔺

Some of our preschoolers had a shape-tastic week! They explored shapes in all kinds of hands-on ways—painting, coloring, cutting, sorting, creating shapes with Q-tips, and discovering shape toys throughout the classroom! 🟣🟩🔷🔺

But their learning went beyond shapes! During Jesus Time, they talked about how God created each and every one of us—unique, special, and deeply loved. 💙

They talked about the special gifts God has given each of us, whether it’s drawing, singing, being a good friend, or something else. God created us with a purpose, and we can use those gifts to bless and encourage others!

What a wonderful reminder that God’s creativity is on display in every shape—and in every one of us! ✨

🏔️ Day 2 in the Black Hills! 🦅

Our 8th graders continued their Leadership & Earth Science Camp adventure with visits to Mount Rushmore and Sylvan Lake, followed by a hike through Sunday Gulch! 🥾🌲

From exploring South Dakota landmarks to challenging themselves on the trail, these Eagles are learning, growing, and making memories together along the way.

We’re loving the glimpses we’re getting of their EXTRAordinary week! ❤️💙

🎥 SFLS Featured in PeaceWise Video

Last spring, Sioux Falls Lutheran School was invited by PeaceWise—an Australian nonprofit that equips people to navigate conflict and build healthy relationships through biblical principles—to be featured in a video highlighting its work in the United States.

We were thrilled to share how PeaceWise has become part of the culture at SFLS—not simply as a curriculum, but as a shared approach to helping students navigate conflict, rebuild relationships, and put their faith into action.

Through the teachers and staff who model these skills every day, students of all ages are learning to become peacemakers who can navigate relationships and serve others in a complex world.

We’re excited to share the finished video! Hear from SFLS students, teachers, and leaders about what peacemaking looks like in our school community, and see why we believe these are skills worth carrying beyond our walls.

🏕️ And they’re off! 🦅

Our 8th graders hit the road this morning for their annual Leadership & Earth Science Camp in the Black Hills!

Their first day has already been full of adventure, learning, and plenty of miles! They stopped in Chamberlain at the Lewis & Clark Rest Area for a photo with the Dignity statue, then made their way to the Badlands for some hiking and lunch. 🥾🌄

This treasured annual trip is about so much more than visiting amazing places. Throughout the week, our students will build leadership and teamwork skills, try new things, serve one another, enjoy small-group devotions, and grow in their relationships with God and each other—all while exploring the incredible beauty of South Dakota.

We’ll be sharing more photos and updates throughout the week, so follow along as our Eagles make memories in the Black Hills! ❤️💙

🏃‍♀️🦅 Cheer on our Little Eagles! 🦅🏃‍♂️

Our K-5 Little Eagles have wrapped up their cross country practices, and now it’s time to race! Many of our young runners will be taking part in the Sioux Falls Kids’ Cross-Country Meets over the next three Wednesdays.
