🌟🐯 Good News Call of the Day! 🐯🌟

We are celebrating two fantastic Tigers from 2B today! These learners did an amazing job showing their PAWS expectations in action as they walked through the hallways and made their way through the lunch line.

They were safe, respectful, responsible, and wonderful role models for learners in their class and other grades. Their leadership stood out so much that they received compliments from four different teachers!

That is what it looks like to lead by example and show your Tiger PAWS wherever you go!

Way to go, Tigers! Keep making Explorer proud and Growing Great Minds through your choices each day!

🌟 Good News Call of the Day! 🌟

Today we are celebrating this kiddo in 1S for showing our Habits of Mind in such a kind and meaningful way!

When a new student joined the classroom, he went out of his way to help him feel welcomed. He shared his supplies, made a new friend, and helped make the student’s very first day feel special!

These are the moments that make Explorer such a great place to learn, grow, and belong. Way to be a wonderful example of what it means to be a Tiger!

You’re invited to Save the Date for an art show at the Heritage Commons during Homecoming Friday!
This show celebrates students exploring art as a tool for wellness and features artwork created by 4th- and 5th-grade students from across the Harrisburg School District.
Join us after the parade from 1–4 PM on Friday, September 25 to:
🎨 View student artwork
🌿 Cool off and relax
🖌️ Participate in art activities
💛 Learn more about how art can support our wellness
Your artist does NOT have to have artwork in the show to attend! Everyone is welcome to come enjoy, create, and explore the connection between art and wellness.

🐯 Good News Calls of the Day! 🐯

Today, we are celebrating two amazing Tigers who have gone out of their way to make others feel welcome, valued, and included.

These two continue to lead by example - volunteering to help, looking out for others, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. We are so proud of these two for showing us that being a great leader is about noticing others, stepping up, and choosing inclusion.

Way to go, Tigers! Keep helping Explorer be a place where every student feels seen, supported, and valued!

🐯 GOOD NEWS CALL OF THE DAY! 🐯

Today we are celebrating this kiddo from 4S for showing what it means to be inclusive and kind!

During lunch, he made an extra effort to make sure everyone had someone to sit with. His simple act of noticing others, welcoming them in, and making sure no one felt left out is exactly the kind of kindness we love to see at Explorer.

Way to go, buddy! You are helping us Grow Great Minds AND Great Hearts!

🌱 Growing Great Minds starts with planting the seeds! 🌱
Explorer Elementary staff were greeted with a fun opportunity to kick off the school year—potting and decorating a new plant! Our school-wide theme this year is “Growing Great Minds,” and we’ve teamed up with Black Sheep Landscaping to bring that theme to life in a BIG way! 🌿
Each Explorer teacher received a plant and pot to decorate, and thanks to the generosity of Black Sheep Landscaping, every student at Explorer will also receive their own pot to decorate and grow! 🪴💚
What a wonderful way to start the school year and remind us that great things grow when we nurture them!

🎨🌱 Creating Together, Growing Together! 🌱🎨
Explorer Staff built community by creating together on their first official day back to work! 💚
Staff members read quotes about teaching, students, and growing, then painted or drew what each quote inspired in them. From there, the artwork was passed around the table, with each person adding their own creative touch. 🎨✨
The result? Beautiful collaborative artworks that represent the creativity, connection, and community of Explorer Staff. These pieces will be hung throughout Explorer and celebrated all year long!
What a wonderful way to kick off our school-wide theme: “Growing Great Minds!” 🌱🧠
Here’s to a year of growing, creating, collaborating, and inspiring one another! 💚
