It's that time of year again our flower friends! Join us for our 4th annual Warrior Wildflower Fundraiser benefitting the WHS Warrior Debate Team!

This year, we will host this event in three sessions. Our schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, July 17th, 5-8pm
Thursday, July 18th, 5-8pm
Saturday, July 20th, 8-11am

A 15$ donation gives you all of the flower-picking privileges. Form as many flower bouquets as you wish.

Mosquitos are tough this year so pants and closed-toe shoes are encouraged. In addition, vases and scissors are limited, so we would appreciate it if you could bring your own 🙂

BIG congratulations to all of our teammates who represented WHS at State Debate this weekend. Today we recognize Maddie placing 2nd in International Extemp, both Maddie and Charley being semi-finalists in Public Forum, and Savannah being a quarterfinalist in Lincoln Douglas! RESULTS ARE IN: Juniors Madison Johnson and Charley Stroh both qualified to nationals in their Extemporaneous event (International and Domestic.) Senior Savannah Kloster qualified to nationals in Lincoln Douglas debate. Also, this season, Washington High School won the Leading Chapter Award!

From the NSDA website:
Only approximately 3% of schools are recognized as Leading Chapter Award winners. “This award, which is based on student participation, represents a tremendous dedication to speech and debate education,” said Executive Director J. Scott Wunn. “Our Leading Chapter schools understand the importance of speech and debate, and the life changing benefits of the activity. We are proud to recognize these hard-working schools with this coveted honor.”

These speech and debate programs serve as an inspiration for new speech and debate teams around the United States. “Speech and debate advances communication skills, develops interpersonal skills, improves reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking, and prepares students for college, careers, and beyond,” said Wunn. “Nowhere is this more evident than our Leading Chapter schools.”

We had a very exciting weekend! After 33 hours of competition, we are excited to say we are going to Des Moines in June! 🏆🛣️
