Field Day 2026 was a beautiful day at the park. It was great to see our older students helping the early childhood students experience their first field day. We also celebrated the success of our Fun Run this year by pieing some of our staff. We raised nearly $9,000 dollars. Thank you LBA community. Kindergarten released some butterflies on the last day of school.

Our 5th grade had a blast at Arnold's Park in Okoboji, Iowa. Thank you to the Promising Future Fund for sponsoring this trip.

Congratulations to our 4th quarter Top Bees! These students have been nominated by either their classroom teacher, specials teacher, and/or classmates based on good character here at Laura B. Anderson. We are so proud of you!

The first grade made a trip to the Children's Museum of South Dakota in Brookings. They had a blast exploring. Thank you to the Promising Future Fund for sponsoring this trip.

Reminder... tomorrow, May 20th is field day at Pioneer Spray Park. Please make sure your student is dressed for the weather - it will be cool in the morning. The schedule is as follows:
3rd thru 5th - 9:30 AM to 11 AM
Lunch for all - 11 AM
Fun Run Celebration 11:30 AM
K thru 2nd - 12:10 PM to 1:40 PM

Field Day is one week away! We have had a slight schedule change. The whole school will eat lunch at 11 am at the park and we will have our Fun Run Celebration at 11:30. We hope you can join us!

We are in the season of field trips. The 3rd and 4th grade enjoyed the circus. Our 2nd grade had lots of fun at 605 Ninja. Thank you to the Promising Futures Fund for sponsoring these experiences for our students.

2nd grade got to extend their learning about landforms by exploring volcanoes. To end their work, they got to make a model and watch an eruption!
