Eleanor Weckwerth ('23) is one of the lead authors of this new publication in Nature Communications. https://rdcu.be/duXH7
Eleanor worked on this project as an undergraduate at Augustana before going on to graduate school at Stanford.

We made it to Brookhaven National Laboratory and the sPHENIX experiment! We are here for four weeks taking data and trying to help solve more problems than we make.

It is good to get visual feedback on your lecture to go back over a topic in case students don't quite understand.

Congratulations to Eleanor Weckwerth for winning a Goldwater Scholarship! Eleanor is a Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics major from Dassel, MN. Eleanor wrote her winning essay about her project examining bond rearrangement in ethanol following ionization by ultrafast laser pulses. Her work was funded by the Arlen Viste Fellowship and in part by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Importance of one- and two-photon transitions in the strong-field dissociation of ${\mathrm{NO}}^{2+}$ 11/18/2021

Congrats to alumna Bethany Jochim whose recent paper (https://journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevA.104.053112) co authored with Dr. Eric Wells was published online today and chosen as an Editor's Suggestion. This work started when Bethany was an undergrad. A very small number of articles are published with this distinction that indicates editors or referees found the paper of "particular interest, importance, or clarity."

Importance of one- and two-photon transitions in the strong-field dissociation of ${\mathrm{NO}}^{2+}$ The authors report on a study of the femtosecond laser-induced dissociation of the metastable dication NO${}^{2+}$ into N${}^{+}$ + O${}^{+}$ using coincidence three-dimensional momentum imaging. Their analysis shows the dominant role of the lowest electronic states in the molecular excitation, and....
