58 participants. 30 challenge finishers. So much progress along the way. 🤸🏼

Our July Summer Splits Challenge brought 58 people (adults and kids!) together with one goal: make a little more time to stretch, move, and work on flexibility.

And while 30 participants checked off the full challenge, we’re celebrating every person who joined in, whether it was for 20 days, 10 days, or simply more stretching than they were doing before. Progress over perfection. 💪

A special congratulations to our 30 finishers who completed the challenge and earned their Summer Splits Challenge shirt! 👏✨ Wear those shirts (and show off those splits 😉) proudly.

🌟 SEPTEMBER STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: THE LEE FAMILY! 🌟

This month, we’re featuring a whole aerial family — Jacob, Jen, Jocelyn & Joelle Lee! ❤️

The Lee family is a great reminder that aerial really is for the whole family.

Jocelyn started about four years ago after seeing aerialists in circuses and performances and thinking it looked interesting and cool. Her favorite apparatus is silks, and she loves the environment at SDAA. “Coaches are understanding but know how to push their students to do better.” Her advice? “Just do it!”

Jacob joined when his kids became interested because, as he puts it, “I’m not the type of parent to just sit and watch.” 😆 What started as something to do alongside his family became one of his favorite ways to stay strong, flexible and fit. Silks is still his favorite, although straps are quickly closing in!

Then Jen joined in October 2025 after watching her family have so much fun. Her favorite part of SDAA is simple: “The people. I have so much fun when I am there.”
And her advice is perfect for anyone watching from the sidelines and wondering if aerial could be for them too:
“Try it. You don’t have to have any skills to start. I know I didn’t.”

Different ages, different reasons for starting, and different goals, but a shared love of aerial and the community they’ve found along the way. ❤️

Beginner Dance is coming to SDAA starting September 9th from 8 PM - 8:45 PM.

This class is open to individuals 16+ who want to learn the fundamentals of dance, movement and floorwork. Many of us joke that we are “graceful in the air, but not on the ground” and Tabitha Heckmann is going to help us change that!

You need absolutely no experience to participate in this series (drop-in options are also available).

Our goal is to create a safe, fun space to learn and move.

Pricing:
SDAA Members: $50 for the 6 week series, $10 drop-in
Non-Members: $75 for 6 week series, $15 drop-in
