What does my day as a tutor look like?

Varied! Fun! Fast! I am trained to teach/tutor math, reading, writing, and Latin, and have 15 yrs experience doing it.

This is my current Thursday and Friday schedule. This looks math heavy, but I do have several reading kids this year, they are just stacked on Monday and Wednesdays. But in general it ebbs and flows all the time as to what subjects I get contacted for. I like that spice.

I spend my time in this beautiful sunny classroom and the kids and families I work with are the best. Especially for the younger kids, I use a lot of games and hands on activities. I play a LOT of games every day. :)

After so many years, I have resources and systems that make my daily prep minimal. On my breaks, I talk to parents, write session notes, eat chocolate or pretzels, and decompress a second.

I love tutoring your kids. I am a lucky duck.

(1) I don't want to teach to because

While studying a pencil drawing of a teacher at a blackboard, my 9 year old student says, "Why does she look so evil, like she is about to say something so cruel?"

And I am a little nervous here because he loves to tell me horror stories or about gory things he watches.

He continues, "Like 'Find the square root of 5 or list all the digits of pi.'"

I was so relieved and so entertained. Love this kiddo. LOL.
