How can female runners stay safe following the murder of Laken Riley? Almost a week has gone by since the death of a 22-year-old nursing student who was murdered while running alone at the University of Georgia.

Born into a family of black belts, Sydney has been training as a martial artist her entire life . With a whopping 25 years of training under her (black) belt, she's a force to be reckoned with. Holding multiple black belts in multiple martial arts, Sydney has had the privilege of training with some of the most prestigious instructors around the world in various disciplines, including JiuJitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Krav Maga, and Ninjitsu. In 2021, Sydney's dedication to empowering women inspired her to create The Empowerment Center, an all-women's self-defense academy. Equipping women with the world's most effective self-defense techniques, Sydney provides a safe and supportive environment where women can build confidence, strength, and resilience.
Sydney's mission is simple: to empower women and help them unleash their inner warrior, because every woman deserves to feel safe and confident in any situation.
