For more than twenty-six years, Wendell Berry was an honored teacher and spiritual influence in Keith Anderson’s life.
Keith read and reread his books. Quoted him in his teaching. Corresponded with him. And, over time, discovered that Berry’s words were shaping the way he understood faithfulness, community, place, work, aging, and the ordinary life before us.

Swipe through for a glimpse of what Wendell taught him, then read Keith’s full remembrance in this week’s At the Table—where he shares the stories and wisdom behind each one.
“Wendell taught me to pay attention, belong deeply, live slowly, keep faith, and give myself away.”
