That’s a wrap on another Motorcycle Rider Course at WITCC!

133 students successfully completed the Basic Rider Course this year. 👏

Our final class was led by Rider Coaches Lyn Stanek and Jon Murad, who added a little fun to the final riding skills test by swapping their “Rider Coach” titles for “Examiners” and putting on their neckties. 👔

A few highlights from a great night of meeting future Comets!
Our Evening Visit Day gave students and their guests the chance to experience campus firsthand. The evening included a welcome presentation, campus tour, pizza, and a chance to cheer on our Comets volleyball team.
And of course, everyone left with a WITCC T-shirt! 💙💚

This afternoon, WITCC hosted a Mock Traffic Stop event designed to give people with disabilities an opportunity to practice and become more familiar with what to expect during a traffic stop.

Participants practiced calling 911 and took part in a hands-on mock traffic stop scenario.

The event was a collaborative effort with Siouxland District Health Department, City of Sioux City Police Department, Woodbury County Sheriff's Office, Special Olympics Iowa, and the All Abilities Coalition. We’re grateful to everyone who helped create this opportunity. 💙

We had a great time at Siouxland Build My Future, hosted by the Home Builders Association of Greater Siouxland and Siouxland Construction Alliance!

Our Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Welding programs brought hands-on activities and demonstrations to give local high school students a chance to explore careers in the skilled trades.

Thanks for having WITCC be part of a great day of learning and exploring! 🔨

Ready to build your AI skills?

Western Iowa Tech Community College is hosting AI Literacy for Industry Professionals, an in-person training delivered by the Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) at Iowa State University.

This practical, non-technical course is designed for working professionals who are curious about AI, have experimented with tools like ChatGPT, or currently use AI for writing and searching but want to get more consistent and useful results.

Participants will build a foundation for using AI responsibly and intentionally in the workplace. No technical background or prior AI experience is required, and the course includes hands-on learning, so participants should bring a laptop.
