Sioux City East High Debate Squad This page is to recognize the amazing achievements of the Sioux City East High School Debate Squad.

Sioux City East High is building an amazing and strong Debate team. This page is to give recognition to the students who are taking on such an unbelievable, intellectually challenging experience which is IHSSA Debate. These kids are traveling all over the state of Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota to compete with schools and show what Sioux City East is all about. We are intellectual gladiators and we

love every second of argumentation. Miss Marissa Behan is the coach of this team (brand new this year) and wanted to showcase the accomplishments of this team along the way.

Reminder!!!
This Friday is the Speech, Drama, and Debanquet!
It starts at 4:00 and will go until 5:00 (or be shorter than that)
We will have treats and drinks!

Speech and Debate participants make sure you come to the auditorium after school 3:15 Friday so we can take our group photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Speech/Debate/Drama Banquet is at 4 in the Media Center on FRIDAY! Awards/certificates/Letters/Pins will be given! See ya there!

Iowa Forensic League State Speech and Debate Tournament update:

Congratulations to the East High Speech and Debate Squad for being RUNNER-UP STATE SPEECH SWEEPSTAKES CHAMPIONS and bring home TWO STATE CHAMPIONS!

Great Job to Caleb Johnson and Loki Cash who did a nice job representing East in the Clay House!

This was extremely tough competition and we are very proud of you! Congratulations all of you!

Calling all EAST HIGH SPEECH supporters.
Apologies about the late notices of these Meetings but January 22nd is coming up soon and we are in desperate need of volunteers!
With over 25 schools and more then 400 kids attending districts at East this year we need anyone willing to help!
That being said, the East High Speech Team will hold another informational meeting December 21st a 6 PM!
The meeting will only last around 20 min so we can give a brief overview and answer any questions.
Speech student members will be REQUIRED to attend!
If you are unable to make it but are willing to volunteer please e mail Kindall Davis Todd @ [email protected]

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask!

IHSSA ANNOUNCEMENT (In case you are not on the ihssa facebook group)

East High is HOSTING IHSSA Large Group Speech on January 22nd and we NEED help!

Parents/Guardians of students involved in IHSSA and Students- PLEASE plan on attending the informational meeting THIS THURSDAY- the 16th, at 6:15pm in the Media Center.

If you can't make the meeting but can help, please email Kindall Todd at [email protected]. We need help with concessions, room monitors/timers, door/donation managers, hallway monitors, judge room, and donations! This is a huge fundraiser for the IHSSA speech team and we desperately need your help to make this day run smoothly!
