Yesterday marked the official start of the 2026-2027 school year! Here are a few things to recap and remember as we kick off another great year:

💙Starting the Year Fresh: Laurie Dougherty, Enrollment Director, passed out a new notebook to each high school student to help everyone start the year fresh and organized.

💛Find More Photos: Looking for more photos than what we share on our social media pages? You can find even more memories in our photo gallery here: https://photos.bishopheelan.org/

💙Share Your Photos: Did you take photos at a school event that you’d like to share with us? Upload them through our document uploader here: https://forms.gle/TicYggnoTjbMt1e38. This helps us capture and share events we may not have been able to attend, while showcasing all the amazing things happening throughout our school system.

💛Annual Hoopla Tonight: Tonight is our Annual Hoopla, our fun back-to-school celebration! Join us from 5-7 PM for food, fun activities, and a chance to meet other Crusader families. We hope to see you there!

Here’s to a fantastic 2026-2027 school year! Go Crusaders!

It’s TIIIMMMEEE…

No, not that time. Mariah can stay on ice for a few more months.

We’re talking about the annual tradition of hunting down the last pack of #2 pencils, debating which backpack to buy, and getting ready for another exciting school year.

The 2026-2027 school supply lists are now available! Find your student’s list here: https://www.bishopheelan.org/resources/school-supply-lists

More than 319 businesses and organizations invested in the mission of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools during the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

That number is more than a statistic. It's a reminder that our community believes in Catholic education and in the students we serve every day.

To recognize these incredible partners, we've updated our Supporting Businesses Directory featuring each business that supported Bishop Heelan throughout the past fiscal year.

We encourage our families, alumni, and friends to support the businesses that support Heelan. Whether you're looking for a restaurant, contractor, healthcare provider, retailer, financial advisor, or another local service, consider starting with one of the businesses in our directory.

Together, these 319+ businesses and organizations are helping make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

View the directory here: https://www.bishopheelan.org/giving/supporting-businesses

Thank you to every business that has helped make a difference. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to another wonderful year together! 💙💛

Bishop Heelan is learning and growing! ✨📚

This week, a team of teachers, principals, and school leaders from Bishop Heelan is attending the PLC at Work® Institute in Des Moines. They are learning from some of the nation's leading education experts about how strong Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) help schools collaborate, support students, and improve learning for all.

They are excited to bring back new ideas to strengthen our PLC work, continue growing as educators, and better serve our students. 💙💛

We are proud to invest in our educators as we continue providing an exceptional Catholic education for every Crusader. ✝️
