The magic number is lucky #13 this year for how many new teachers that started their journey at the Sioux City Career Academy in the education pathway that landed a job back in the district! Growing your own pipeline is amazing, and what an incredible group of teachers! There are a couple new teachers missing from the picture, but we are so excited to have them all back home!

Mrs. Bryce and her husband Risty Bryce had an awesome time this summer helping teach 4th graders professional skills. They were able to work with the girls on introducing themselves, first impressions, handshakes, asking and answering questions, and presenting their vison boards! These girls were so impressive, and they really embraced feedback. They also wrote the most amazing thank you notes! We loved seeing these girls become more confident in their abilities!

Congratulations to Career Academy/education pathway alumni Dayten Hogancamp on being crowned Queen of the River! We are so proud of you!

Dayten Hogancamp was named Queen of the River during the Queen's Luncheon and Royalty Coronation at the South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront. Joining Hogancamp, as River-Cade princesses, will be Hannah Dillehay and Vanessa Koelling.

One of our amazing alumni Michael W Widjaja is doing incredible things this summer! He's making front page news! Michael has come back to visit our classroom multiple times sharing his experiences as an educator, musician, and college student! We are so thrilled for you and your service to the community!

Congratulations to Bella Lendt on receiving 2nd place in the Monona County Bill Riley Talent Show tonight! She sang the beautiful song She Used to Be Mine from the musical Waitress! She was amazing! Also, thanks to alumni Michael W Widjaja and Career Academy icon Mackenzie Hiserote for judging tonight! This is what some of us do during the summer!

Mrs. Bryce led a professional skills lesson on first impressions with the 4th and 5th grade girls today at Girls Inc. of Sioux City, and she saw one of our education alumni Thuy! She started volunteering at Girls Inc in high school, then she worked there during the summer, and she is back again! So proud of her!

Another one of our interns Reygan Mann had a unique internship this year where she was able to intern at Lamb Theatre and Bryant Elementary, and learn how to be a teacher as well as a choreographer! At the Career Academy, we like to build internships that fit our students' interests!
