The Halloween Party was a success! We made crafts, broke out a virtual breakout room, enjoyed pizza and treats, and walked in the costume parade.

Our Halloween parade and party will be Friday afternoon. Due to Covid, families will not be allowed in the building again this year but I have lots of fun activities planned for your second grader. I will take lots of pictures and post them here. Students are not allowed to bring treats but I will make sure we have plenty of candy, salty & cheesy snacks and juice drinks. If you'd like to contribute a few dollars that's fine but at the same time it's completely unnecessary. The kids and I can't wait for our first classroom party! Also, send costumes in a bag, we'll put them on before the party and parade.

Hello families!
I’m Mrs. Lucia Vasquez, I graduated from West High school here in Sioux City in 2014. I am student teaching through Buena Vista University. I love passing the time watching movies and spending quality time with my two daughters and husband. I’m excited to spend the next two weeks teaching your kiddos!

Our Valentine's party will be this Friday, Feb. 12. We will have the same procedures in place that we had for our Halloween party. Students may bring Valentine's but they need to be here by Wednesday so they may quarantine for the proper amount of time. I will provide snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, families may not send treats. Today I am sending home a list of names. :-)

Monday is Christmas jammie day!

It was a messy but fun day. The kids were tasked with finding a way to slow erosion on a model of a hill made from corn meal, salt, and water using foil, toothpicks, and paper towel. The creative ideas were impressive!
