It was a joy for Dr. Groenewold to introduce young and eager musicians to the Dordt Casavant Organ during Dordt Discovery Days! Students took lessons, played several pipe organs in the area, and presented a recital on Friday. Thanks to Dordt alumnus, organist and music educator Alice Ymker for her fantastic assistance during the camp!

From Belgium to Paris:
The Organ Study Tour visited a beautiful Flentrop organ at St. Niklaas in Belgium on the way to Paris. In Paris, students played a wealth of instruments by Cavaillé-Coll: at Sainte-Trinité, Notre-Dame-de-la-Croix, and Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts; the van den Heuvel at Saint-Eustache; the Couperin organ at Saint-Gervais; and ended with the Alain organ at Saint-Germain-en-Laye. We attended a French Reformed Sunday service at Temple du Saint-Esprit, and Vespers and a double choir concert at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Thanks to all who supported this Organ Study Tour with financial gifts and remembered us in prayer. Glory be to God for these rich musical experiences!

From The Netherlands to Germany: The Organ Study Tour continued in The Netherlands, with instruments at the Grote Kerk, Harderwijk, the Waalse Kerk and the Nicolaas Kathedraal in Amsterdam, and the Renaisssance organ at Oosthuizen, then headed north to the Hinsz/Schnitger organs at Appingedam, Leens, and the Akerk. We also traveled to Wesel, Germany, to play the Marcussen organ at Willibrordi Dom and visited the Reil Factory in Heerde. With gratitude to our host organists and churches for these opportunities!
