New face alert! 🚨 Help us welcome Tara Zylstra to the Warrior team!

Ms. Zylstra grew up in Sioux Center and is the oldest with two younger sisters who both attend Dordt University. She graduated May 2025 from Dordt University with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and special education. In her free time she likes spending time with her family and friends. She likes to be outside, and she loves to go for walks with her dog.

Ms. Zylstra is a familiar face at Kinsey since she did year-long student teaching at Kinsey and last year worked as a para and long-term substitute at Kinsey. She loved both experiences and is excited to join the Warrior family as a teacher!

New face alert! 🚨 Help us welcome Angela Hannigan to the Warrior team!

Mrs. Hannigan is a familiar face at Kinsey but will be taking on a new role this year as an ESL teacher. Her passion for working with English learners began in high school when she developed a deep appreciation for Hispanic culture and the importance of family. That appreciation shapes the way she connects with and supports her students and their families. She loves building meaningful relationships with students and providing the individualized support they need to help each child thrive.

Mrs. Hannigan graduated from Dordt College in 2004 with endorsements in Elementary Education, Elementary Spanish, and K-12 ESL. Since then, she has earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy, along with additional endorsements in secondary Spanish, K–8 Reading, and Early Childhood with a focus on inclusive settings. Throughout her more than 20 years in education, she has had the privilege of working with students from early childhood through high school, primarily teaching Spanish and supporting English learners from Spanish-speaking homes.

She and her husband, Ryan live in Sioux Center with their three children: Sean (17), Logan (15), and Bella (12). Outside of school, she enjoys leading a local Girl Scout troop, singing, photography, and spending time with family.
