Letter I Scavenger Hunt

Today we went on a Letter I Scavenger Hunt! Our little explorers traveled all around the preschool, searching for clues and working together to figure out where to go next. They had so much fun hunting, exploring, and following the clues!

After searching high and low, they finally found the TREASURE… ICE CREAM! Of course, we had to choose a special treasure that started with our letter of the day—I is for ICE CREAM!

There was only 1 thing that we were sad about. We had some friends absent today. :((

Our Pre-K 4 students had so much fun practicing name recognition, letter matching, and fine-motor skills today!

Using Play-Doh, the children covered the letters in their names and matched letters to their name cards. This hands-on activity helps strengthen letter recognition, name awareness, hand muscles, coordination, and early writing skills—all while making learning FUN!

We love watching our little learners grow, learn, and build confidence one letter at a time!

We are wrapping up our spotlight series with the woman who wears every hat and puts the "Cathy" in Cathy’s Christian Preschool—our Owner, Director, and Pre-K 4 & Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Cathy Michael!

​With 16 years of early childhood experience, Mrs. Cathy is the heartbeat and soul of CCP. She holds her CDA and ECAC, is CPR certified, and consistently scores above the national average on her CLASS observation scores. She is also a member of Beckwith Baptist Church. Her reputation speaks for itself—parents across our community know that children leave her classroom more than prepared for their educational futures! Fun, loving, and deeply caring, Mrs. Cathy pours her entire heart into guiding, teaching, and loving every single child who walks through our doors. She sets the standard for our school and leads our team with unwavering faith, passion, and devotion.

Next up in our spotlight series, we are so excited to introduce our Director Designee, Brittany Pickering!

​As Cathy’s daughter, Brittany has been working hard behind the scenes since the very beginning. While you might only catch a glimpse of her from time to time, she serves as our accounting, licensing, and IT departments all wrapped into one, making her our ultimate go-to person for anything involving technology, organization, and problem-solving. ​Brittany holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, has earned her Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate (ECAC), and is CPR certified. She also attends church at Beckwith Baptist. Her dedication keeps everything running seamlessly so our teachers and students can thrive every single day! ​We are so grateful for everything Brittany does to support our CCP family behind the scenes.

Next up in our teacher spotlight is our fantastic Pre-K 3 teacher, Mrs. April Fruge!

​Mrs. April brings 5 years of early childhood experience to Cathy’s Christian Preschool. She holds both her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate (ECAC), is CPR certified, and is currently continuing her education through online college courses! She attends church at Good Hope Baptist Church. She is incredibly loyal, dedicated, and passionate about helping her students prepare for the next steps in their education while building a strong foundation in faith and learning. We are so grateful for the heart and enthusiasm she pours into our Pre-K 3 class every day!

What a fun way to wrap up our week in the Pre-K class! Today we explored sensory bins while strengthening our fine motor skills. From scooping, pouring, pinching, and sorting, little hands were hard at work while little minds were learning. It’s amazing how much learning can happen through play! We had a great week and can’t wait to see what next week has in store.

Sending our prayers of our sweet Jasper as he’s out not feeling his best. Also our beautiful Danlyn. We love and miss yall.

Next up in our teacher spotlight series is our wonderful 2-year-olds teacher, Mrs. Gayla Cox!

​Mrs. Gayla is entering her fourth year at Cathy’s Christian Preschool, and we couldn't be more thankful to have her on our team. She brings incredible expertise to her classroom with both her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate (ECAC). She attends church at Lillie Pentecostal Church. She is also CPR certified.

​Dedicated and focused, Mrs. Gayla puts her whole heart into teaching every single day. She creates a structured, engaging, and loving environment where our energetic 2-year-olds can blossom in faith and academics.
