Before our students return later this week, our staff has been doing some important work of their own.

For two days, Cobb staff came together for Positive Discipline training with Chip DeLorenzo.

In Montessori, we talk often about the prepared environment, but just as important is the prepared adult. The thoughtful work our teachers do before children ever walk through the classroom door matters. That means preparing beautiful, intentional spaces, but also preparing themselves to meet each child with respect, consistency, curiosity, and connection.

Positive Discipline aligns naturally with so much of what we value at Cobb: seeing behavior as communication, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and helping children develop independence, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

So while classrooms have been taking shape all around campus, with materials carefully placed, shelves arranged, and spaces made ready, our staff has been preparing, too.

The classrooms are almost ready. The adults are ready. And we can’t wait to welcome our students back to Cobb.

This year, our community came together to support something that isn’t flashy, but is essential: the prepared environment that nurtures our children every day.

Thanks to your generosity, we’re making important improvements to our campus and building. Last week, we tackled storm drain repairs, and today, we’re replacing aging HVAC systems. These investments help ensure our classrooms remain safe, comfortable, and ready for learning.

These behind-the-scenes projects may not be glamorous, but they make a lasting difference. Thank you to everyone who helped make these improvements possible.

Sometimes it doesn’t take elaborate activities to capture a child’s interest. Self care is something that most children want to mimic. They see the adults in their lives do it. Providing accessible tools gives them the opportunity for them to “do it myself”.

Cobb Class of 2026 🎓
Vincent has been part of the Cobb community since his early days in YCC with Ms. Jamie, bringing with him a unique mix of strength, flexibility, and curiosity. Whether he’s on the ice playing hockey, demonstrating his impressive flexibility, or diving into a history topic that captures his interest, Vincent approaches life with enthusiasm and determination. He is someone who fully engages with what he loves, and that passion is felt by those around him. It has been a joy to watch Vincent grow over the years, and we look forward to seeing where his interests take him next.
