Nestled in the heart of the Farmington Valley on a beautiful 6-acre campus, Cobb provides a safe nurturing environment for children to meet their full potential. The Cobb School, Montessori, founded in 1974 and located on five picturesque acres in Simsbury, educates children 15 months through sixth grade. Cobb’s mission, “Believe, Guide, Step Aside, Let Fly,” and core values—Respect, Responsibility, Independence, and Integrity—are felt in every element of the school. In this peaceful and diverse community, joy and delight in learning are matched by the values of hard work and self-discipline.

Heel, then toe. Heel, then toe. Walking the ellipse is one of the quiet favorites in our Primary classrooms. Children follow a line taped in a large oval on the floor, placing one foot directly in front of the other. Some days they carry a bell and try not to let it ring. Some days they balance a bean bag on their head.

It looks simple, and that’s the point. The work builds balance, body awareness, and a kind of focus you can see in their faces. Often the room gets noticeably calmer while it’s happening.

What a great night! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Country Fair. A little rain didn’t stop us, and once it cleared we got to enjoy the crafts, the yummy food, and best of all, time together as a community.

A special thank you to our parent volunteers. You were amazing! And as always, our incredible staff gave it their all to make the night so special. We’re so grateful for all of you. 🍂

A big thank you to the Simsbury Fire Department, and especially the crew of Engine 16, for visiting Cobb this week! Our Lower Elementary students learned how to stay safe in a fire and got an up-close tour of the engine.

We’re so grateful to the firefighters who serve our community and took the time to spend the morning with our students. 🚒
