This is GEAR UP Week for our 8th Graders! Staff and All students, Gear Up to Dress!!
MONDAY: “GEAR UP SC: We’re Ready for the Future! - Wear your GEAR UP South Carolina T-shirt! - 8th Grade Students Only
TUESDAY: “Dream Big. Go Big!” All Students/staff: Wear a college/university shirt, hat, sweatshirt, or colors — or represent a school or training program you’re interested in.
WEDNESDAY: “GEAR UP to Serve!” All Students/staff: Wear camouflage, patriotic colors, or military branch gear.
THURSDAY: “Dress for Your Future!” All Students: Dress like the career you want to be someday! Think scrubs, business attire, sports, construction, chef, uniform, and more!
FRIDAY: “GEAR Up & Be a Wildcat!” All Students/staff: Wear your HMS spirit gear or school colors and show your Wildcat pride!

Are you an 8th-grade student interested in pursuing your passion for the arts? Join us for a Fine Arts Center Family Night to learn more about the opportunities available to students beginning their freshman year.
The Fine Arts Center offers programs in:
• Architecture
• Theatre
• Dance
• Visual Arts
• Music
• Creative Writing
• Filmmaking
Students attend the Fine Arts Center five days a week, either in the morning or afternoon, while completing their academic courses at their home high school. Greenville County School District students attend the Fine Arts Center tuition-free.
Families from Hillcrest Middle, Mauldin Middle, Rudolph Gordon, Fisher Middle, and Bryson Middle are invited to attend.
Enjoy a Taco Bar dinner catered by Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill while learning more about the Fine Arts Center. Guests will hear from Vee Popat, Director of the Fine Arts Center for Greenville County Schools, who will share information about the programs, opportunities, and audition process.
Come learn how your student can turn their artistic passion into an exciting part of their high school experience!
8th Grade IGPs have begun. They will be running through Thanksgiving break. If you have not singed up, please make sure to see Mrs. Groome.
