Adora Café: Celebrating Grandparents

We transformed our gym into the Adora Café for a special celebration honoring the grandparents who make such a meaningful impact in the lives of their families. Grandparents offer love, wisdom, encouragement, and treasured memories that help shape the lives of their grandchildren. Their presence creates a special connection between generations and provides children with a sense of family, belonging, and unconditional love.

Our Adora Café celebration was a wonderful opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren to spend quality time together, create lasting memories, and celebrate the special bond they share. We are excited to honor these important family members and thank them for all they do!

Adora is celebrating eight amazing years — and today we’re throwing it back!
Our birthday week continues and today we are totally rad about our 80s & 90s dress‑up day! We are loving the neon, the denim, the scrunchies, and all the retro vibes our children and teachers are bringing to the classroom.

Tonight from 6:30–8:00 PM, we’re keeping the nostalgia going with our Glow Dance Party for enrolled children and their immediate families. Get ready for glowing lights, classic throwback beats, and a dance floor full of energy.

As a reminder, this event is exclusively for children currently enrolled at Edora Early Learning Academy and their immediate family members.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

The children arrived buzzing with excitement, eager to feel the cool mist and rushing fountains. As they moved through the space, each feature of the splash pad invited a new kind of learning:

Collaborative play — Children quickly learned that some water elements worked best when they coordinated their efforts. They experimented with blocking streams, redirecting water, and timing their movements together. This built communication skills and strengthened peer relationships.

Scientific thinking — The splash pad became a mini‑lab. They tested how water pressure changed when they covered a nozzle, noticed how sunlight made the mist sparkle, and predicted which direction the water would flow. Their curiosity drove real inquiry.

Gross motor development — Running through sprays, balancing on wet surfaces, and maneuvering around fountains challenged their coordination and agility. They practiced controlled movements while still embracing the joy of play.

Self‑advocacy and safety awareness — Children learned to navigate busy spaces, take turns, and communicate their comfort levels. They recognized when they needed a break, a towel, or a quieter area—important self‑regulation skills.

Creative problem‑solving — When a water stream didn’t reach as far as they hoped, they experimented with angles. When a friend wanted to stay dry, they brainstormed ways to play together without getting soaked. Their ideas were inventive and collaborative.

Today is National Air Traffic Control Day!

Today our classrooms will read I Want to Be an Air Traffic Controller! by Marlon A. H. Wright. Children will also learn how air traffic controllers keep airplanes safe, why their work matters, and how communication, teamwork, and STEM skills make aviation possible—all through engaging, hands-on activities that bring the book’s lessons to life.

Children’s water‑day play with water balls, sponges, cups, dishes, “carwashes,” and simple STEM water‑flow setups is far more than just fun — it’s a rich learning environment that builds science understanding, motor skills, social development, and early engineering thinking. The core takeaway: water play is one of the strongest hands‑on STEM foundations for young children, because every splash, pour, squeeze, and experiment gives immediate feedback and encourages problem‑solving.

Before email. Before texting. Before Zoom calls. There was the classic toy phone. 📞😄

Our little friend was hard at work making some very important calls! Whether he's chatting with a best friend, ordering pizza for the class, or calling Mom just to say hi, dramatic play helps children build communication skills, creativity, language development, and confidence.

Every pretend conversation is an opportunity to practice listening, expressing ideas, and exploring the world around them. Plus, it's pretty adorable watching our tiniest professionals handle their "business" for the day! ☎️💙

Future architects at work! 🏗️✨

Our Prek friends put their teamwork and creativity to the test as they worked together to design and build with magnetic tiles. From deciding where pieces should go to solving building challenges, these little engineers were busy developing critical thinking, problem-solving, spatial awareness, and communication skills.

The best part? Seeing the pride on their faces when their creation came to life! 💙

Who knew a handful of magnetic tiles could spark so much imagination, collaboration, and learning? 🌟

Some of the best learning moments happen when friends gather around a good book. Our little readers were busy exploring colorful pictures, building vocabulary, practicing listening skills, and letting their imaginations run wild.

Reading together helps children develop early literacy skills, strengthen their attention spans, and learn about the world around them—all while creating special moments with friends. ✨
