💚 Today, Admin Served Up a Little Love! 💚

Our teachers and staff pour into our students every day. They give their time, energy, patience, and hearts to our students, so today, it was admin’s turn to serve them! 🐊

Admin fired up the grill and prepared a special meal as a small way to show our appreciation for everything our staff does. From the classroom to the front office, the cafeteria, the hallways, and beyond, every member of our team plays an important role in making RGS a special place to be.

Today was just one small way for admin to say, “Thank you!” 💚

This Gator Greatness Award goes to Tiffany Bearfield & Sara Taylor! ✨

These two are the kind of people who make a school feel like a family. They show up, jump in, help wherever they’re needed, and somehow keep everything moving—even on the busiest days! Their kindness, dependability, and willingness to support others never goes unnoticed.

Here’s hoping our students are having a restful weekend - because their brains have put in some serious WORK this week! 📚 🧠

September is National Literacy Month, a time to recognize the importance of literacy and the role we all play in building these skills across all ages. Today, we’re spotlighting our 6th grade students and literacy in action! 💚🐊

⏳ In 6th Grade ELA, students are creating Time Relics filled with literacy-rich artifacts that capture who they are right now. They’ll reopen their collections in 8th grade, giving them a chance to revisit their stories and see how much they’ve grown.

🏛️ In 6th Grade Social Studies, students are analyzing primary sources about Ancient Greece and using evidence to determine its legacy and lasting impact.

Literacy is so much more than reading and writing. It’s how we analyze, communicate, interpret, create, and make meaning across every subject and throughout our lives.

During National Literacy Month, we encourage our families to keep literacy going at home—read together, visit the library, share a favorite book, or simply make time for meaningful conversations. 🐊💚📚

ARMES nominations for the 2026–2027 school year will reopen for select programs with limited spots from September 8–22, 2026.

Students in grades 3–8 are eligible, and nominations may be submitted by anyone—including teachers, parents, or community members.

Auditions will take place on September 25, 2026. An ARMES Site Supervisor will reach out directly to schedule an audition time, and complete audition requirements can be found on the ARMES website. https://bit.ly/4h7Fr1n

📚🕵️‍♀️ MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, GATORS!

This week, we celebrated our amazing readers who completed their RGS Summer Reading Mission!

And Gators… you REALLY showed up for this mission!

✨ 231 students completed their summer reading mission — DOUBLE the number of students from last year!

Our reading agents enjoyed reading and completing their mission. We are so proud of every student who made this a part of their summer!

But the mission doesn't stop here… 👀

Our 2nd–8th grade Reading Agents also received their first mission token in our NEW year-long reading challenge!

Each month, a new mission will be posted in the library, giving our agents new opportunities to read, explore, and earn tokens. And there will be BONUS MISSIONS tied to community literacy programs, including the Greenville Triumph Read to Score program and the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars program.

The reading mission is officially underway, Gators. Who's ready for the next assignment? 🕵️‍♀️📚

🌟🐊 August Students of the Month! 🐊🌟

We are so excited to celebrate our August Students of the Month! August’s character trait was “respect,” and these students showed us what it looks like to treat others with kindness, consideration, and care each day. 💚💛

From K4 all the way through 8th grade, our students are showing that respect matters at every age. Whether it’s in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, or anywhere in between, these Gators are helping make our school a place where everyone feels valued.

We are so proud of these kiddos and the example they set for our school community! 🐊✨
