My Fall session for Travelers Rest isn’t filling up. I am wanting to see if there is interest for a winter session there. If so which time would work for your family best A.M., Noon, or P.M.?

Please share in groups. I would love to offer a session but I need at least 20 families signed up.

Question for you. Did you spend all summer being nervous about pool gatherings and getaways? Did you spend the summer learning the skills needed to be safe around water to only enjoy a few weeks of feeling safe around the water?

What if I told you that there is a better way. I have two Indoor pools one in Simpsonville and one in Travelers Rest. I teach all year long. The problem is most people wait until summer. Unfortunately, there are limited spots in the summer and you don’t get to fully enjoy the summer because you’re not skilled and you’re using 6-8 weeks getting skilled.

What if your summer could look and feel a lot more relaxing. Come get skilled in the Fall, Winter, or spring. Then just come and do a quick refresher (a few lessons, not 6-8 weeks.) in the summer and you’re all set.

I have Travelers Rest openings starting September 21st from 8:30am- 10am or longer if needed (Tuesdays - Fridays)

Sending more prayers to another family during this hard time

A toddler has died after being found unresponsive in a Huffman swimming pool, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Lago Trace Drive, where the child was pulled from the pool and rushed to a local hospital. The toddler was later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine exactly what happened.

An 8-year-old boy who was reported missing on Monday was found deceased inside a neighbor’s pool, according to police. 🔗 ⬇️

Statistics are statistics. Just know this only shows the fatal drownings. This doesn’t show ones pulled out and rescued, or those with lifelong brain injuries. If you think it can’t happen to you, you’re wrong!

I am sick to my stomach posting this....

Florida has now lost 56 children to drowning this year. Nearly 80% of those children were between the ages of 1 and 4, and more than three-quarters of the deaths occurred in swimming pools. The most common scenario was a child getting out of the home undetected. These tragedies are preventable when families use multiple layers of protection, including active supervision, barriers, alarms, and self-rescue swim lessons.

1 year olds - 21 37.5%
2 year olds - 13 23.2%
3 year olds - 3 5.4%
4 year olds - 7 12.5%
5+ years - 11 19.6%

Among the 43 pool deaths:

Airbnb/Vacation Rental Pool – 7
Neighbor's Pool – 3
Community Pool – 3
Relative/Friend Pool – 3
Hotel Pool – 1
Apartment Pool – 1

Child Got Out of the Home Undetected
31 of 56 deaths (55%)

Examples:
Slipped out a back door
Followed sibling outside
Left during nap time
Wandered from home at night
Left through a doggy door
Left while caregiver was using restroom

This remains the most common circumstance.

I tell parents all the time Life jackets are not to save lives they are for body recovery. If your child can not roll over onto their back in them they can hold them face down in the water. Please be careful and have your life jacket tested. So many prayers for this family!

Breaks my heart to hear of another drowning right here. Drowning is silent and quick. Praying for all of the friends and family!
