Paint the rock to celebrate birthdays, achievements, as a 'thank you', congratulations, good luck, a special milestone, offer well wishes, or words of encouragement. The rock is a fun way to share any kind of positive message. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RENT A ROCK?
$15 per 24-hour rental period. HOW LONG IS MY RENTAL FOR? Rock rental begins on the day BEFORE your reservation date at 4:00 PM and continues until 4:00 PM on the DAY OF your reservation date. (Example: Jane wants to rent a rock for October 22, she paints the rock beginning at 4:00 PM on October 21.) You may sign up for more than one day per year. However, to give everyone an opportunity to rent a rock, you may not rent the same rock for more than two consecutive days. HOW DO I RENT A ROCK? Reserving a rock is easy! ARE THERE ANY RULES OR RESTRICTIONS REGARDING WHAT CAN BE PUT ON THE ROCK? All rock decorations must meet the same handbook standard expected of any school sponsored sign, attire, event, etc... Renting the rock for advertising, political, or religious purposes is prohibited. RGS PTA has the right to remove any painting deemed inappropriate by school administration without notice to those who rented and/or painted the rock. WHAT SUPPLIES DO I NEED? You will typically need 2-3 cans of spray paint for the base coat. Additional acrylic or latex paint (note-latex paint takes longer to dry. Plan accordingly.), tarps/drop cloths/garbage bags to protect the grass, and craft/foam brushes for the design. WHERE DOES THE PAYMENT GO TOWARD? All proceeds benefit RGS PTA and will be used to support students, teachers, and staff. WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD FOR THE DAY I RENT THE ROCK? The rock can easily be towel-dried and painted. You may wish to bring a large tent for shelter/shade from the elements while painting. The PTA will not offer refunds under any circumstance.
