The preschool children enjoyed a 🧸 Teddy Bear Picnic basket 🧺 outside today, after a busy week of preparing for the picnic. They also learned how to have gunny sack races.

A rain day calls for a quiet movie day in Friendship Forest with a fun popcorn treat with our WOLF Pack. This is especially perfect for our Lights, Camera, Action week! 🐺🍿🎥🌲

On Friday, the preschoolers as well as the schoolagers had fun celebrating our first Water Day of the summer! The children enjoyed splashing, pouring, and exploring at the different water stations. They also played wet sponge toss, played in the sprinkler, made bubbles as well as other water activities.

On Wednesday the Lakeshore Explorers made a frozen treat. They were able eat their choclate pudding pops on Thursday.

There isn’t a much better way to explore our senses than a field trip to one of our IACW favorites… Autistic & Loved! This was such a great time for all our WOLF Pack friends to be curious, discover new things, take healthy risks and be silly too! We love seeing all the smiles 🐺🩵

Our WOLF pack school agers have already had so much fun and activities in just over a week of their summer program. 🐺😎

Last week, they explored the decades of the past, by listening to different eras of music and making friendship bracelets while learning about a popular trend of macrame to a field trip to Skate City for some roller skating fun. They ended their week with a tye-dye party and celebrating the kindergarteners who will be joining the pack next fall. 🎶🛼🎉📿

This week they have been Sensory Scavengers learning about the 5 senses with color mixing and string cup phones to pass sound vibrations, as highlights so far. 👀🎨☎️

Summer has officially begun!! ☀️☀️

Our preschoolers had their 1st day of their summer program today. Some of them went out on a Nature Scavenger Hunt to find things we might see in the summer time! ☀️We even found some sandals someone left at the park…it doesn’t get more summer than that 😉SO many things have grown since our spring flower hunt. Our friends did a great job of being safety stars and good helpers to our new friends. 🙌🏽 ⭐️🩴🌻🍉😎🔍

Today was our annual transition to kindergarten event to celebrate this BIG milestone in a kid friendly and fun way! This year’s theme was….
🎵🤘Rockin’ Into Kindergarten 🎸🎉

With the possible rain and weather this morning, we made the last minute decision to move it inside…a 1st for this event in 6 years. (Nice work team 💪🏽) It didn’t stop the music and fun though! Reading the book, Kindergarten Rocks! by Katie Davis, dancing, snow cones, cookies, popcorn…a good time for all! 🎶We are so proud of this group…they rock!! 💜💚💛🩷

Vanderveer Park in Davenport is one of our favorite places to go with our preschool friends. There is SO much to do and see…its almost like a storybook! 📖📚From the nature inspired playground to an enchanted forest, a Candyland road, fountains for wishes and a beautiful conservatory with fairy houses! It was magical and perfect weather for our adventure ✨🌳🪄🧚‍♀️☀️

Some hightlights were learning about bees, finding a caterpillar on the playground and finding SO many different color flowers. There were plants/flowers shaped like animals throughout the conservatory which made for an extra fun I Spy game, as we looked at all the beautiful greenery. 🔎🪴🌸🐛🌻🐝

Our day ended with a picnic lunch together on the park lawn. It really was a great day full of fun and discovery in our community! They were a tired bunch when they returned to the center. 🥪🍇
