The right knot can mean the difference between secure gear and a failed setup. In an emergency, these five knots can help you build shelter, tighten tarps, bundle supplies, connect rope, and handle basic first-aid tasks.

Clove Hitch: Fast anchor for shelters and tarps.
Bowline: Creates a strong fixed loop that will not tighten under load.
