Washington Academy of Music

Washington Academy of Music WASHINGTON ACADEMY OF MUSIC is a community music school located in Silverdale, Washington.

Washington Academy of Music brings conservatory quality music education to the community music school level through our association with the Royal Conservatory of Music and The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program. We provide superb music education for the novice beginner, the weekend hobbyist, the serious amateur, or the college/conservatory bound student who has professional aspirations.

Our piano, voice, violin and classical guitar programs are specifically designed to prepare students for participation in The Music Development Program. This program provides a recognized national standard of musical success through an effectively sequenced course of study from beginner to advanced levels. The program also inspires excellence through individual student assessments and allows students to celebrate accomplishment and track their progress with others across the country. Students who wish to study music with us should schedule a consultation. During a consultation students, and parents of younger children, meet with a teacher and talk about lessons and the curriculum. Teachers will also evaluate a student’s current level and make specific recommendations.

Online instruction is different, no doubt, but students can still make superb progress when they work with a dedicated mentor/coach in a goal oriented curriculum.

Programs available in Piano, Guitar, Violin Voice and Cello

Hello students and parents,

Just a quick update in case we forgot to inform any of you (it's been a really strange month) we'll still be observing our scheduled Spring Break this upcoming week (March 30 - April 5th). This will give us plenty of time to get more familiar with Zoom as well as some exciting prospects with the TeacherZone service.

Thanks for all of your patience during this! We all really appreciate it,

-Tim

Dear WAMFAM Students/Parents,

After a week of looking at different online options and testing several systems we have decided to use each teacher’s personal Zoom accounts for this coming week.

After spring break, which is the following week, we will begin using Teacher Zone and their video lesson system. Login details and training information will be sent out prior to spring break. We can use some of the spring break time for student training (since most of us won’t be going anywhere!) for those of you who wish to get a head start.

We will be contacting each of you by phone starting early on Monday to help you log on to Zoom, which by the way is free for each of you.

You could help us out in the meantime by sending the email address you wish to use for Zoom and online lessons.
