From our youngest Infants to our Grade 12 seniors, the entire Barrie community came together for Barrie Beginnings! This is our opening ceremony and the official start of a new school year. 💙💛

There were smiles, school spirit, and even a little magic, courtesy of Head of School Ben Thrash, who reminded us that every great beginning is better with a unicorn. 🦄

Tune in to the season premiere of Good Things DC tonight, Tuesday, September 8, at 8:00 p.m. on DCN (cable channel 16 in DC).

The season kicks off with “The Future of Learning,” featuring Barrie Head of School Ben Thrash! Ben joins the conversation to share insights on preparing students academically and socially for the future, supporting educators with the resources they need, and the implementation and impact of the Global Impact Diploma at Barrie.

The first day of school is here, and Barrie is once again filled with smiling faces, warm welcomes, new beginnings, and the energy that makes our campus feel like home.

From age 3 Months through Grade 12, today marks the start of another year of curiosity, connection, discovery, and growth.

Here’s to a wonderful 2026–27 school year. We can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

What better way to kick off the year than with a pool party! Today, Barrie families from Infant through Grade 12 came together for our Welcome Back Pool Party—a chance to reconnect with old friends, welcome new ones, and celebrate the start of another year together. 💙

A big thank you to the Barrie Family Association (BFA) for bringing our community together and hosting such a fun start to the school year!
